Convinced that the reason people eat blacked peas on New Years Day is that it will likely be the worst thing to happen to you all year long

Sack a taters, head of cabbage, a pack of country style porkribs & corn meal in place here. That's usually a given anytime of year, but we make sure of it for the new day. 100 worth of ribeyes for the 2 of us tomorrow. We'll be ok. Wagu??

Sheesh New Year's combo special at the grocery store, couldn't pass it up! LOL ! I’ll be having fresh homemade tamales from a local Mexican family. And a pot of red beans. Like Geno said, my cornbread comes from a mix. Betty Crocker or Jiffy works just fine. 😬

Actually it’s really good. Served with homemade cornbread of course. Growing up in California I had never had blackeye peas before, but her family is from the south and it’s a new year’s tradition they don’t skip.
