Just curious if anyone has tried the Mantis X system? If you have, could you comment on it's effectiveness and whether it provides results worth the cost? If you have tried any different systems that are laser driven and would suggest as an effective alternative please let me know brand and model. Thanks everyone.

Yep. I've had one for 4ish years.
I use it extensively to train new handgun shooters. Spending some dry firing time at home to develop muscle memory saves a ton of time, ammo, and frustration at the range. The range is not a good place to teach new shooters and it's difficult to read a target and figure out all the things the shooter is doing wrong/right. The MantisX cuts through all that and tells the shooter exactly where they need to improve.
I can't compare it to other trainers, but I've seen the benefits of the MantisX. My GF learned to shoot at home months before she ever got to a range. Her first live fire experience was flawless and she was already accurate on target. So the hours spent at home dry firing with the MantisX and shooting a Sig Sauer P226 blowback airsoft pistol made all the difference.

I loved mine. We bought one for our son for Christmas. Our Daughter borrowed mine. She really likes it. Guess I'll be buying myself a new one.

So I was checking out the Mantis website. I was surprised to see that the MantisX systems do not use a cartridge that gets inserted in the gun and projects a laser beam. Which system do you like better? Also, do you folks have the live fire system or the dry fire?
Thanks

The MantisX works either way dry or live.
It is basically a very sensitive accelerometer. So it can predict bullet strike based on muzzle movement before, during, and after hammer fall.
