Applied for my WI tags, apps were due by 12/10/23. If drawn, my usual "seasons" aren't until May! WI draws NR last, okay with that. Was hoping I could apply as a landowner, but you need a minimum of 50 contiguous acres for that, I have 40. Have been seeing/hearing a lot of turkeys here while out deer hunting. Out deer hunting now, been very rainy last couple days, saw 2 good sized groups of birds out in fields pecking around looking for eats. Hoping winter isn't too bad and a bunch see Spring 2024!

Looks like we have a bumper crop of 2 year old's in my neck of the woods. Should be a fun/noisy spring cant wait!!

Minnesota is mid April. I hunt them with archery equipment, quite successfully. Can’t wait.

Our season doesn't open til May 4th....... 🤬
But, I'll be hunting in Florida and Campeche considerably sooner than that.

April 15th here in TN. Been thinking real hard about trying to find something in TX, was supposed to go to Kansas but everything I'm hearing caused me to ditch that trip this year.

Had a week of mild weather here and heard a lot of turkey action in the woods in past week. Starting to get me fired up.

Lol I call it " ice drinking" but that is just me. We always have a good time and manage to find some fish. After all next year's firewood is cut, there is not much to do here in winter. Set a few coyote snares and that is about it. Ice drinking fills the void.

We've still got a 2 week winter season coming up in January after deer season closes. Hope to get out a couple of times for that. Alaska, a bathroom remodel, and a new grand daughter out in California ate up so much of my 2023 paid time off. But it all starts over tomorrow. Yay! I need to get back up to the state forest and see how I'm going to tackle it this spring given that a big chunk of my favorite tract has been razed. Gonna head out to another, much bigger, state forest and do some scouting, too.
