I've used Sierra #8340 and XTP's for wt deer and
unaware coyotes and smaller swine spewed out
of B.H.'s and 681 and rifles alike

I've only caught one out of those
Broke the near shoulder and stuck in the far
side after smashing it as well

Nothing wrong with the AE load you have. Of course, it all depends on what you are hunting.

Well, that's definitely a classic hunting bullet for the .357 Magnum.

Agree on heavy hard cast, and yes, Lost River is definitely the easy button! Ted makes some really nice, consistent, ammo. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the replies, some good info and leads. The fire doesn't disappoint.

I'd go with Mackay Sagebrush's hard cast 170 grain Keith-style load. It shoots good groups in my S&W 27, 66, and 620.

I've bought Mackay's ammo in 357, 40, 44 Spl, 44 Mag, 45 ACP, and 45 LC. All of it has been excellent and performs in my guns just like he claims that it does in his guns.

Another vote for Lost River Ammo!
I’ll be trying some of those 170gr Keiths in my Marlin levergun this year.

You may as well go ahead and order some Lost River 9mm hardcast as well.
A box of each will have you set for a while.

You shoot Mackay’s .357 170 load through a S&W
M-27?
