The latest film series offering of "Around the World in 80 Days", is entertaining, beautifully shot, adheres to the book 'fairly well'. Looking for family entertainment over the holiday vacation, we decided it would fill the bill. It did, but personally, I was deeply offended by the substitution of Phineas Fogg's manservant, originally a French thief and con man named Passeportou, to a coal black African....which would have been ok I suppose, but the scriptwriters just had to involve him in a romantic way with the female lead. How did we get to this point?

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.
