I've got the pork roast thawed, collard greens, black-eyed peas ready for the crock pot and the cornbread ready to mix and bake. I'll start it all in the morning, early.
One of my favorite meals all year. Been having this same meal forever on NYD.
Who else and what do you have?

Pork shoulder roast is sitting in the fridge waiting on tomorrow. Pork roast, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes. It's a favored meal numerous times throughout the yr, but always on new years day, just because. Ha.

Put a brisket on the smoker at 3 am for a gathering at the house later this afternoon/evening. Others will supply sides and salads.

Leftovers for New Year's day...

Lamb chops

Scalloped taters

Steamed green beans

Banana cream pie

We don't have a set traditional meal for the day. Whatever sounds good at the time

I always make a pork roast with sauerkraut but this year I'm switching the roast out for kielbasa with sauerkraut and perogies.

Whatever I can scrounge up. My wife works tomorrow. I do a lot of the cooking but after the last week or so of big meals, meeting extended family for meals, leftovers and deserts I’m pretty well over it.

I like the buildup to Christmas but once that’s done I’m ready to get NYD over with and get the Christmas decorations down and move on with the new year.

Beretta shooter wins it for me. A good Banana cream pie is tough to beat. Love me some scalloped taters too.
