It is much more uncommon for me to have a single firearm chambered for a specific cartridge then for me to have multiples.

Sometimes it's like buying tires. Why would you want a tire that doesn't fit anything you have?

We have several multiples in handguns, rifles and shotguns. Biggest numbers are in .22 and 12 gauge.

Multiple rifles are in .22, .22M, .243, .30-30, .308, 7MM.

Doc, I have considered the 250-3000 but haven't come across the right one. However, I did pick up a Rem 700 Classic in 300 Savage while in Houston last September.
Only one though, (so far).

Glad to see I'm not alone. I don't know if I'd consider it the "cartridge of the month club" but, even that isn't all bad. Whatever is fun and keeps me off the golf course and the streets. Like I tell the wife, "A gun is just a tool and I've got 2 hammers don't I?"

The only real draw back I have experienced so far is when I try to pick which ones to take hunting. Mr. Day is correct, as most anything I pick will kill a deer just as dead as the others.

Course, the old ball peen will drive a nail just as well as the claw version. Life is good isn't it?

Only with the .30-06 SPRG (I have three). I have a sporting/hunting rifle (a pre-64 M70) and two military rifles - an M1 Garand and a 1903A3. The two US issue rifles are now range rifles (no competitive shooting anymore - just fun shooting) and for history - they are in their original configuration - no sporterizing or scope mounts, etc. As I see it these are not duplicates, because even though the cartridge is the same, the intended function of the rifle is not. Skane... I'm not exactly sure, but the real question is...How in the he11 do you bed an Edge to a 30oz framing hammer?

Lets face it guys.. All we really need to kill any animal in the world is a 270 and a 375H&H.. But, how much fun is that?? Im in the early stages of becoming a gun loonie, but boy is it fun... My wife is gonna hate you guys. Thank god my father-in-law has a full blown gun room in his house, complete with fireplace, trophy heads, and soond to be 8 ft Brown bear when it gets back from the taxidermy.. It really is something straight out of a Cabelas store.. Im the luckiest guy in the world, because she somewhat understands..

Right now I'm looking for a Kimber 7mm-08 for my wife, a Wally World 7mm that will someday be used for a full blown custom, and Id love to have the new Kimber Caprivi (I wish they make it in 416 Rigby).. You guys are gonna cost me a lot of money..

Well, at least you're off to a good start. About 2 more 280's ought to do it.

I have three 280's & three 7 Wby's.

I too have duplicate chamberings in 243, 30-06 and 308 Norma plus I load for my daughters and sisters 243's and my son's,nephews, brother-in laws and sisters 30-06's.

And just to truly demonstrate that I am a looney...

I have one 30-06 load that works in all seven '06's for deer and I change bullets in it for their elk season use [I use my 338 for that now].

Ditto the 243's but I load them for varmints and deer.

The Norma's are mine and they use the same load as well.

It relly simplifies ammo supply issues on family hunting trips.

A couple of the rifles will only shoot 1.25-1.5" three shot loads with the loads but that works for deer.
