I picked this up today, ordered it about 6 days ago from a gunshop. It is a firestick gun, 50 caliber. I traded my flintlock with some coins out for it. I haven't used my flintlock in years, no longer want to hunt the cold weather in january, With this new gun I can hunt the early PA muzzleloader season. I am anxious to get to the range and sight it in.

What's this cold weather in January you speak of? I'm still spraying my clothes with permethrin to keep the ticks at bay. Flintlock season has become mild

Odd - PA wouldn't let you use a more primitive weapon in early season. Makes no sense.

Odd - PA wouldn't let you use a more primitive weapon in early season. Makes no sense. You can use a flintlock or cap lock in the early season if you want to. The flintlock season is longer but the weather is usually cold and snowy. I will be 77 in 2 days, I have done my time in miserable weather so I wanted to, do something different in better weather.

Ahh - I was reading it as you needed the inline to hunt the early muzzleloader, flints not legal.
