15 years ago I got my first titanium plate in my neck. I think it was like C-4 and C-5. Then in 2019 I had a complete rotator cuff repair and surgery on my left shoulder. Everything has been good. Now fast forward to 05-18-2023 when a lady ran a red light and hit me hard. I had neck surgery again and got another titanium plate in my neck. Maybe C-2 and C-3. And still because of the wreck, another rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder. I can't shoot for a few more months and turn 65 in May of this year. I love my 12 ga for waterfowl and pheasants. I love my 45/70, and my 300 WSM's for big game. I love the 300 WSM's for just shooting at the range. I shoot my rifles at the range off of a lead sled so no recoil problems there. And I'm not opposed to going down to a 20 ga for waterfowl. I'm confident in shooting my 20 ga. At the range, I shoot my 300 WSM's off the led sled so the only big recoil is hunting and I have a brake on both of them. Here's the question to you guys that have had close to the same experience, is it time to go go down a notch? Start shooting the 20 ga and the 6.5 CM?
A 380 in my pocket is better than a 45 in my truck!

Fusion L2-L5. TKR, left and right. Stent, TAVR, pacemaker. Two cataract removals. Shoot trap each week, put a deer in the freezer with a 44 mag. Other than age related osteoarthritis and inflammatory issues, I'm getting by at 80.

I am 80. Two fusion, hardware in my back over 6 vertebrae, replaced shoulder. It is time for you to make some life style changes. Those prior injuries and surgeries will develop osteoarthritus around every one of them.. I can't shoot a 20 gauge semi auto with field loads, 5 shots with a ML with minimum charge. I have a brake on my .06, but it doesn't get used any more. 6.5 Swede and .243 is about it. I put new recoil pads on both on both of them this past month.
You won't believe this, but at 65, if you don't change up some things, you won't like turning 80
If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles

I have been pastor at my present church for 11 years. During those 11 years I've had 11 surgeries or other types of very involved medical procedures. This year, I will have my 4th and my 5th shoulder reconstruction.
I am only 60

I'm pretty much being rebuilt this winter. I say we are blessed that they can do it.
