Do you think Scarface or Texas Chainsaw Massacre would have been much different if they had used battery-powered chainsaws?

A m18 Milwaukee would make for a pretty short movie. One battery would kill a whole group of lost white folks, and you couldn’t fill the film with bullshit of some gimp trying to start a 2 stroke.

The Husqvarna 40V I have, with a 14" bar, works really good. But like every other tool we use, use it within its parameters. I almost found out how well it would cut skin and bone... almost (moving fast and got careless)! But the way it goes through wood leaves no doubt how well it would work for something else...

A dealer recently told me, they have improved greatly and could be compared to electric cars, they have a load capacity limit with limited runtime. Not the best choice to head out in the woods to cut cords of wood. Guess you could buy several saws with several solar charge panels, a honda generator backup, and a new diesel pickup with an inverter.

I abandoned the gas saws and went with a DeWalt electric. For my current needs, it's perfect. Out on the farm, my son still uses the Stihl and Echo gas saws, but then the work he does out there far exceeds my chores here in town.

I'll die before I cave to the eco-Nazi electric agenda I got tired of burning up gas saws and broke down and purchased a Husky plug in saw years back before the Battery stuff came out. I burned that plug in saw up with my first tree. Went years with out a saw and then I got my first Stihl an MS311 love it. So I needed a smaller saw for tree climbing. Went an picked up a Stihl MS 194T Love the top handle for liming. I just hope I do not burn these up as they cost to much to replace. Some thing will have to push me real hard to get another electric saw.

They would have probably killed more folks with them since they are so quiet. So yes, it would be different.
I rarely break out my gas saws anymore, my dewalt 20v will handle about anything up to 8in.

I have the Kobalt 80v from Lowes. Great little saw. When I need to cut up a 20 inch diameter white oak, I get out the big Stihl.

I bought a Stihl battery saw with a 12" bar.
It weighs 6 lbs. And at 71 years old, it works GREAT for most of my needs.
I still have a gas saw for bigger stuff, like wind fall trees.

My eldest bought a Homelite plug-in saw. Little short, stubby 10" blade. Sure beats a stubborn, pull start, gasoline saw! LOL! I don't do alot of chain saw work, so it works just fine. If I were out cutting fire wood, I'd have a Stihl, Husqvarna or Homelite saw that would start.
I'd also use the premix fuel in the can!

My stihl220 will cut about 1/2 a pickup bed of oak or hickory. That’s felling and bucking too.
It would likely cut a dumpster full of that sissy john wayne “out west” pine fir chit.
It’s about $750 to get into this saw with tool, batt, charger. Keeps the rif raf out. They can only make snide comments.
A spare battery is a real gem to have too.($189) When these batts quit, theyre done. They do have level indicator light on them to help gauge time.

My existing arsenal of 18v makita tools and batteries led to my decision on a 16" makita battery power chainsaw.

I cut over 800 fence staves an additionally several trailer loads of cedar post last summer with my Home Depot 80v Kobalt. Starting next batch of staves next week. Also have about 100’ of old straight rail working pens to rebuild. And about 40’ of gate wings to picket.
I can’t hardly pull a starter cord anymore with right arm

I like my little Dewalt saw it starts every time I need it ,don't have to mix gas and it works about along as I do in one session. The only fault I can find it that it leeks oil from the oil fill hole, Theo ring is missing and I can't find one to replace it just have to rember to lay it on it's side when finished.

You can cut o-rings with a razor and superglue to any diameter.
