Took me forever to get a picture avatar to work for me and now after a week or so it has disappeared again. Reason/help??

Did you change something on your profile page? When you open your profile page, the avatar selection defaults to use a stock avatar. If you clicked on save without changing the avatar back to the photo you want, it will show the default.
