This ammo is safe to shoot in any Steel .357 Magnum revolver in proper working order. HOWEVER, THIS AMMO IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR J FRAME, or ANY OTHER compact small frame revolvers. Do not shoot this in alloy framed revolvers, and/or compact, 5 shot revolvers. The recoil is extreme. The recoil may also cause the bullets to jump the crimp

Any idea of carbine velocity?

Has anyone shoot this out of a Rossi 92? Any idea if it would be a safe whitetail round?

This would be a safe whitetail, Mule deer, Elk, Bear load out of a pistol, even better in the carbine in my opinion. Flat nose works on game and this one will penetrate very, very well.

I bought 100 rounds of this heavy .357 to try in my JM Marlin 1894. A range report for those who were inquiring follows. MacKay, feel free to use the data in any way you see fit.

Using my new Garmin Xero C1 PRO mini radar, I clocked several different rounds for comparison. All shots were at 50 yards off a steady rest.

Super Vel Police 110g JHP: 1900fps (5 rounds)
Speer Lawman 158g JHP: 1800fps (5 rounds)
Winchester Supreme 180g Partition: 1400fps (?! 5 rounds)
Buffalo Bore 180G WFNGC: 1822fps (5 rounds)

Then....

LOST RIVER 180G WFN POLY: 1875FPS!!! (10 rounds)
Max: 1900fps
Min: 1838fps
ES: 61
SD: 17
Accuracy was about what I expected out of a microgroove barrel, about fist sized. Noted two pierced primers. This is probably about as much as anyone could possibly ask of the .357 Mag out of a rifle. Really hot stuff and of the highest quality!!!

That sounds like a good way to loosen up your Marlin.

Do you make 454 Casull and will you ship to an ffl in NY State

I like the bullet design, and suspect it would fit in a Ruger SP101.
