Both of these barrels are older and are 21" tapered barrels and are 0.625 at the muzzle.

I can't wait until he gets his first groundhog.

I gave one like that to my 8 year old Grandson . He loves it .I am sure your boy does also . I bought a 30/30 barrel he will get on his next birthday . These are not cheap guns and are super accurate . I have one in 7/30 Waters that I Deer hunt with around here .

Despite the fact that most Contenders shoot quite well, there's always room for improvement.
