A regrettably weak response from Ramaswamy and a missed opportunity to educate the idiot professor and the voters. Fundamentally, at its core, DEI is Marxism and is therefore completely antithetical to equal treatment under the law, to the Declaration and to the Constitution. Why not have the balls to say that Vivek? The idea of "diversity" or "diversity of opinion" as an unalloyed positive good is complete and utter nonsense. E Pluribus Unum (our founding credo) means "out of many, one". Diversity must subsist within the principled unity by which this Republic was constituted. That principled "unity" is to be found in understanding the Declaration and Constitution in the same way that the Founders understood them. DEI represents a complete refutation of that "unity" because its core premise (equality of outcome) is completely inconsistent with and contrary to that equality before the law that was enshrined in our founding documents. Why won't Vivek say this? But then again, no Republican candidate is saying it. Trump won't (or can't because he's too ignorant of our history and principles) and Vivek is not as smart, historically grounded or courageous as I hoped he would be.
As far as equal pay for women? When she can dunk a basketball from the foul line, take a nickel off the top of the backboard without a ladder and hit threes like Larry Bird, then she can get paid the same. BTW, women pro-basketball players are paid a far higher percentage of total revenues from their sport than the men are from theirs. Furthermore, the NBA (the men) massively subsidizes WNBA (women's) salaries. Women are generally paid less than men because (1) they often leave the job market for extended periods to birth and raise kids, which is natural and desirable; and (2) they can't perform the same physical work that men can.
The difference is in personalities. Personalities are shaped by a number of things and no two are the same. That creates your "diversity of opinion". I like Vivek and IF he gets the nomination, I'm voting for him. He's not my first choice but I'm flexible enough to accept him if he get's the nomination. I will hold my nose and vote for Haley if I have to because "out of many we are one".
That is why democRATs keep on winning. (other than the cheating). If Charles Manson were the nominee you can bet every lock step democRAT will vote for him. We have real Americans running who want to serve and protect America and Americans. Some with a history of doing just that. I think many of us had to hold our nose when we walked into the booth and put our X's next to their names. But, we did it because it was the right thing to do if we wanted to stay "out of many, one".
