I have no idea what kind of guy he is or his politics but seems like he's made a lot of good movies. Have a favorite?

I liked Gangs of New York. Even tho they took excessive liberties with some of the historical facts. The US Navy never bombed NYC with naval gunfire.
I liked it for Bill the Butcher. Not Dicaprio.

The Departed was good. Gangs of NY was good too.
DiCaprio is similar to Sean Penn as far as being a leftist but a good actor that has played a range of characters convincingly.

The Departed was pretty good. this and blood diamond when I lived in Belize decaprio bought a private island close to the island i lived on. never developed it. I used to bring my steel and targets to it with my boat to shoot pistol unmolested when he wasnt around..which was 362 days a year. when he was around he would make the caretaker camp out on the other end of the island so he could camp out on the north end beach for a few days with 4 brazilian hotties. naked. they would camp cook swim in their birthday suits.why not!!

The Revenant is sort of artsy-wonky like the Director but Tom Hardy is great in it.
Next time you watch it look early in the movie when DeCaprio sitting down cleaning his gun, argues with Hardy and turns to talk to his Indian son. His hog bristle pan brush for his flintlock is hanging on the strap of his shooting bag where it would be...
....it is brand new, never been used, just came out of the plastic wrapper I imagine, I had one just like it.
