Take my tiller boat on it occasionally in the summer. Mostly just a boat ride; get a bite to eat and toss a jig. Amherst-Tonawanda area.

Have been further east on a cabin cruiser but that was 50 years ago. lol

Travel around it quite often in Erie, Niagara, Orleans Counties. I enjoy it for what it is.

Usually take a quick spin out to the Mighty Niagara River when I do go. My 25hp 16’ feels pretty insignificant among the bigger cruisers/go fast boats but I ain’t skeerd. Lol

I’ve been through the Soo locks at Sault St Marie. That’s about as close as I’ve been.

Yes many times. I live about 2 miles from one of the locks. I fish the canal, walk the trails along side it and occasionally boat from lock to lock. Have seen about every kind of wildlife NY has to offer (except black bears) along the way. I truly enjoy this old ditch

Ain’t that how the lamprey eel got into the Great Lakes?

One of the great engineering marvels of it's day... Like the Panama Canal of it's day.

Many of the early settlers of Wisconsin came from Maine/New Hampshire/Mass.... they would make their way across New York via the Erie Canal to Buffalo and then take a steamer thru the Great Lakes to Milwaukee, Sheboygan, Manitowoc and points north... evidence of their travels litter every antique shop in the state, via old Steamer trunks that held all their belongings from home when they traveled.

Well... we have come to the point.... where... the parasites are killing the host. It's only a matter of time now.

They only win.... when they cheat.
