So many old Clint movies Tombstone Old Henry (newer movie, made it to my top 3!, must see) Gunless (comedy, Can/Usa) Yeah 3:10 to Yuma a good one with Russel
And Bale in another called Savages I think...pretty good too.
Then everything else, but to include, in any order you may wish:
Open Range The Searchers The Magnificent Seven Once Upon a Time in the West The Outlaw Josey Wales Rio Bravo The Wild Bunch.
Shane, 3:10 to Yuma (either), and A Fistful of Dollars are not top ten material. Neither is Tombstone, Val Kilmer’s Doc Holliday notwithstanding.
Chato’s Land is not for everyone. If we open up the category some, then Blazing Saddles is a shoe-in. Not Three Amigos.
That is all ...
"What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated." Thomas Paine
I never could figure out why everybody always wants to include Shane and High Noon in these discussions. Sure, they’re good movies, but we’re talking about GREAT movies. Magnificent Seven, Searchers, Tombstone, Once Upon A Time are clearly great movies. Unforgiven isn’t great either. Good yes, great no. And this is coming from a guy that admits to having a dozen Westerns in my top five!😀 Reon
