I paid for a scope on Dec. 23rd. This close to Christmas I did not expect shipment until the following week. I asked about shipping on the 26th. The response was it would ship that weekend. I asked again a week later. I have not heard from purplelantern since Dec. 28th although he has been on the Campfire several times since.
I know I made mistakes on this purchase, but I wanted to get the word out to the rest of you.

Never use WTB or Want to buy … ever I always use WTB, if there's something I'm looking for. A scammer can only scam if you allow it.

I’ve done several deals based on WTB posts on here. Mine and others. The same rules of doing due diligence apply as to all other transactions. If in doubt - back out.

I bought a rifle off a member here a few years ago. While the deal was working he asked if he could call me. I have no problem with that at all. We ended up talking for 45 minutes. I'm not saying a phone call proves they aren't scammers but it does give you a better feeling before sending out your money. A few minute phone call could save you a bunch of money.

Did you use paypal? Send him $5 more and comment “For the rifle bullets” Why, so BOTH of them can get their PayPal accounts frozen--and then forever deleted 6 months later?
