Hey folks,
I have a Winchester Model 90 22 LR that I really don't know the value. It's in good condition with some pitting on the exterior of the barrel. Has a blued crescent butt plate. Wood is excellent.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks.

It’s much easier to assess value with good pictures. In my mind, “pitting” and “in good condition” don’t go together.

I just transferred one that I would rate 80%. The purchase price was $1700. It was made in 1930. It was a 22 Short. The right side of the receiver was matted from corrosion but not pitted. Zero rust on the gun, bluing was great otherwise. It was a takedown model. Maybe they all were, don't know.

Is it an octagon barrel? The 22lr are worth in the 2k range. Better ones more.

I’d estimate $400-$600 based on description. Pictures would make a huge difference and will affect the value up or down accordingly. It sounds like a third variation “90”.
For what it’s worth, I’ve collected these for decades… and I’m not interested in yours (the only reason I say that is to reassure that I’m not motivated or biased by my intent to make a purchase - let alone a “deal”).
They are fantastic guns. Pics would help you.

With both rifles in equal condition, the one chambered in LR will bring a premium price above the one chambered for Short.

160users link is for completed auctions & plain to see what 90's are selling for & the high priced ones not selling. One in particular high priced one appears to have been relisted 8 or 10 times.
And, I agree with everyone that said, pics will tell a lot. Valuing to sell ?

Thanks for the replies.
I think the above mentioned "matting" is a better description and is limited to a short section of barrel on one side.
I'll get some pics tomorrow and try to figure out how to post them, again.
