I am assuming that if I put a dove tail mount ring in it “ wiggles” it’s toast?

The front one , not the one the screws are in the back.

Thanks

Is there a u tube link photos deal?

Take the bottom half of the ring , place it upside down on an appropriate sized socket, smack the bottom of the dovetail with a hammer... will tighten things right up

So the socket has the ring ( where the scope fits) laying on it?

If it’s the type with the screws in the back, throw them in the trash. Get fresh new dual dovetails if you must stay with Leupold. Or any number of better mounting systems.

There are far better ways to mount a scope.

I do not use the ones with rear windage. I buy the Leupold Dual Dovetail. They are Rock Solid scope rings.
