Browning 1895 .30-06, absolutely beautiful rifle with wood stocks blued receiver/barrel. Includes standard iron sights, as well as tang mounted peep. Unknown round count, I am not the original owner (I've never fired the rifle). ***Rifle is in very good/excellent condition, with one caveat. There is a crack in the buttstock starting at what looks to be the lower recoil pad screw.*** I traded for the rifle some time ago, and only realized it recently after moving a few things around in the safe. My plan was to have it pinned/glued, but I just can't make myself like the idea of a lever rifle in .30-06. According to the previous owner, these were offered as a limited run of Field Grade (Grade I) rifles in 1984, total number of 6000 rifles.

$1250 + shipping

-Only trade I will consider is a Savage 99 in .250-3000 w/ tang peep sight plus cash, preferably a takedown model. Doesn't need to be a safe queen.

This would have to show up after spending so much on Christmas! Good luck to OP!

Great rifle!
That crack could be fixed by a good wood guy. I seem to remember Midway? selling replacement wood for the 95s.....

That’s an unusual crack since it traverses across the grain boundries. Without seeing it in person with the butt plate removed I can’t be certain but I would guess it could it could be stabilized and of course refinished. If the rifle had a rear sling swivel it would easier. Just a thought
