First off I have already broken my New Years "Resolution" by buying another firearm!
I did the same thing last year (broke my resolution to stop buying guns, also in the first week of that year!).
I am weak.
Anyway I ran across a beautiful mint perfect Anschutz 1517 in caliber 17 HMR with a heavy 25.5" stainless barrel. This dandy has a two stage trigger and the final stage pull is consistent (and incredibly crisp!) at 20 ounces!
I can't wait to shoot it but have to mount a scope first.
The action has factory drilled holes for mounts and it is also grooved - but I think with the non-existent recoil I will try the grooved receiver path first.
I have next to NO experience with quality grooved receiver rings/ring bases for a one inch scope (Leupold 6.5x20x40m/m).
Its been decades since I mounted a scope on a rimfire grooved receiver.
My Remington 40-X, my Kimber H/S, SVT, 82's and 82-G, my Sako P-94-S, my CZ's, my Ruger Americans, 10/22's and 77's all use drilled receiver bases for scope ring mountings. I am out of the grooved receiver rings loop I guess.
Suggestions needed please.
Thanks in advance.

I like the Leupold Rifleman grooved receiver rings and the $5 B-Squares Sport Utility style that CDNN sells. These are alloy rings, so they won't damage a steel receiver.

The B-Square Sport Utility rings are the best Weaver-style economy grade rings that I've used and you can't beat the price. CDNN used to have them in low, medium, and high in both black and silver.

I have a spare set of high Sportsmatch in inch rings. They are made for 11 mm Anschutz rail. If you want them send me a PM with address. Ter

VG,
I have several Annies including Exemplars with a Conetrol set - up.

However, for several years I have been using S & K projectionless rings, ain't cheap, but very classy.

The gal at S & K is very helpful..

Terryk: Thank you for that generous offer.
Again pardon my ignorance but can you relay to me what size objective bell those "high rings" would accomodate. I guess I would like to keep the objective as close to the heavy barrel in my Anschutz as I can.
Again thanks a ton for that generous offer but I will hold off for now.
Much appreciated.

260RemGuy: Thank you for that "tip" on alloy rings not damaging the steel grooves on my receiver - hadn't considered that.
Thanks again for those tips/information.

Edm: I kind of like the looks of those Talley rings (unlike Cisco1 I guess).
I am perplexed as to HOW I can lap those Talley rings and get my lapping bar out from them without losing the alignment I would have just created - maybe they don't need lapping???
Thanks again.

All: Last night I ran across these "Kelby" rings for the Anschutz 1517.
They are pricey but I can align them with my 1" Kokopelli lapping tool and I can "lap" them if need be.
The price is $119.00 (IIRC).
That is attention getting - but I am only gonna buy one set.

Any thoughts - overkill or alternate source.
Thanks again all

The easy answer is Burris Signature rimfire rings. They come with clamps for 11mm and 3/8" dovetails and the synthetic insert self-adjusts so that no alignment or lapping is required.
The last time I bought a set they were less than half of the price of Kelblys.

Drover: Thanks for that information. I have got to get busy either driving to a gunshop (as it finally got above 0 degrees for the first time in 8 days today) or order something.
I am getting antsy to shoot this one.
Thanks again.

Sportsmatch for the win.

They don't look as flash as the Talleys, but they work superbly.
