No love for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid?

Somewhat recent "westerns" I liked:
Blackthorn
The Proposition
Bone Tomahawk

Tombstone and Silverado are overrated.

I could see Open Range being rated higher if Duval had played a new character. But he was such a one trick pony in this,,,, Gus from lonesome Dove was about all it was for his part.

Not sure about Silverado, but props, correct props along with a strong cast made Tombstone. Supposedly, every gun, all the clothing, & all the tack was period & historically correct. Accuracy in many ways was appreciated by more viewers than the industry would have expected. High ratings.

Parts of Tombstone are great. But the line "go ahead and skin that smoke wagon" does a lot of damage. Just can't take it seriously...

The Professionals is also underrated. Lee Marvin is great in this type of role. So is Robert Ryan. Jack Palance playing a Mexican outlaw, well, it was the 60s...
