I have two Ruger .45 Colt cylinders out for adjustment. Went with Fermin Garza in Corpus Christie. He is a member here.

I know I’m a day late and a dollar short on this. Every Ruger I’ve ever owned (except the Alaskan) needed its cylinder throats reamed.

Old Vaquero 45LC, and (3) GP100s

I agree with those that believe slugging your bore and basing the bullet diameter on the size of your grooves is the standard practice when planning to shoot cast. I’m sworn off Smith & Wesson, so I add the price of cylinder throats because I choose Ruger.

Nope. Not in somewhere upwards of 100K loads. The only time I've had that problem was with .30-30 and brass that should have been trimmed .. thanks, dad. frown I learned better later but when you're 8-9-10 years old you probably haven't unlearned trust of foolish elders.
