Camera Land's Shot Show Preview

I'm headed out to Vegas next Sunday for SHOT. Of course I will be writing and posting a daily SHOT Show report. We have set up a SHOT Show News tab on our home page for you to see updates and new product announcements. As always I'm looking forward to the show, seeing people and maybe adding a new brand or 2. Last year we added Arken & InfiRay. Also, after speaking with a few vendors as well as requests from our customers, we started carrying Branded Apparel .

We have already received word of some new releases for 2024:

The new line up of Leupold Mark 4 Riflescopes. The Mark 4HD series features five magnification ranges, providing you with an accurate and reliable option for close-quarter engagements, long-range dominance, and everything in between. They’re available with a three-turn elevation dial for unmatched confidence at extreme distances, a precise ZeroLock windage adjustment that won’t budge when knocked around, and a side focus that delivers tack-sharp images as close as 25 yards. And like all Leupold riflescopes, they’re waterproof, fogproof, and backed by their lifetime guarantee. According to our rep these should start arriving in the next couple of weeks and all versions should be in by Spring.

Steiner announced and already started shipping their great new Steiner H6Xi Series Riflescopes. Proudly Made in the USA: Inspired by years of German heritage, but crafted on American soil, the H6Xi exemplifies the finest in precision optics. With uncompromising attention to detail and craftsmanship, this series guarantees top-tier performance that meets the high standards set by hunters and shooters alike.

Swarovski announced their new Swarovski AX Visio 10x32 Binocular
THE FIRST SMART BINOCULARS - Combining traditional high-precision sport optics with state-of-the-art technology, the AX Visio transforms the way we observe nature. The AX Visio is the first AI supported binoculars to offer object identification with a simple touch of a button.

You should already be aware of the new Athlon Thermal Optics. Athlon also just released 2 great riflescopes that have been flying off the shelf...Ares ETR UHD 15-60x56 BLR1 SFP IR MOA & Heras SPR 15-60x56 BLR2 SFP MOA.
Other scopes that are new from Athlon are:
New Talos BTR's, Talos 1.5-5x32 Crossbow CB100 SFP IR MOA, Talos 3-9x40 BDC IR Muzzleloader & Straight-Wall IR. They also released their long awaited Cronus G2 7-42x60 UHD Reticle Spotting Scope
IMO, what will be the biggest hit for the range shooter will be their new Athlon Midas G2 PRO 12x50 UHD Binocular w/ Etched Reticle for only $449.99. This, IMO, is a homerun product.

GPO has been busy. They will be showing their new line of Passion SD Binoculars, Rangeguide RF Binoculars in 8x40 & 10x40 and they've also got a new Centuri Riflescope Series that looks interesting with a couple only 9" long and light weight.

Burris has expanded their line of Veracity scopes to include:
2.5-12x42 FFP ILL
3-15x44 FFP ILL
4-20x50 FFP ILL
They'll also be showing their new line of Thermal Riflescopes, Thermal Clip On and Handheld.

Arken announced 2 new Nightvision Scopes staring at only $487.49. The ARKEN ZULUS ZHD520 is a game-changing digital night vision scope, offering 5-20x magnification with a cutting-edge Sony STARVIS 2 chipset for unparalleled visibility. Its compact, lightweight design (under 8 inches and 19.01 oz) ensures ease of handling, while the robust IP67 waterproof rating make it suitable for harsh conditions. With features like an integrated IR illuminator, a high-definition 1920x1080 Micro-OLED HD display, and over-the-air software updates, the ZULUS is perfect for hunters and tactical users seeking advanced night vision capabilities in a durable, user-friendly package.

It should be a very exciting SHOT Show week. Again, look each day at our SHOT Show News tab on our home page to keep up with what's going on.

I have not seen them yet, however, I understand them to be a good quality binocular a step below the Passion ED's

Looking forward to comment on the new GPO RF binos. I've looked thru the 10x32s and 10x50s and was impressed. Be interested in the specs, and whether the new models include auto brightness for the resd-out, and as important whether eye position causes the read-out the 'disappear' as it seemed to do in the 10x50s.

Sightron announces the S6 10-60x56 ED Field Target Scope Series

(2) ED Glass Elements added to the new optical design
A 55% increase in optical resolution over the current SIII 10-50x56 FT series. This makes it much easier to see your shots on target at the highest and mid-range magnifications.
New Parallax Cam System with DCEC protection
The new system has 330º of parallax correction vs 267º in the SIII FT series
Dipoter Correction and Environmental Conditions (DCEC) protection into the cam system so it has room to adjust to your specific diopter correction or when conditions heat up and affect the accuracy of parallax target ranging.
Zact-7 Revcoat Plus Multicoating Technology
The proprietary materials and application process provide the highest possible light transmission, clarity, contrast, and color accuracy. Results in dramatically reduced flare and chromatic aberrations or color fringing. Reduces eye strain and fatigue.

ExacTrack Erector Tube System
Reticle drift happens when the turret plunger engages the erector tube at an increasingly different position on the tube as you reach the more extreme click adjustments. This means a 1/8 MOA click at 15 MOA up is not same adjustment as it was at zero. The result is a score of 8 instead of 10x on the range. ExacTrack fixes this by creating a single point of contact on the erector tube. This single point creates the same click adjustment value at zero as it does at 22.5 MOA up. 1/8 MOA has the same value at all adjustments.
Magnetic Wheel Bundle available
Sightron partnered with Garima Design in Italy to build a magnetic parallax correction wheel to go with the new scope. The magnetic design requires the user to mount a small hub to the parallax knob via tension screws that allows them to attach and remove the magnetic wheel in a second or less as they need it. This is especially helpful when transporting your rifle or needing to make rifle adjustment on the line during a match.
Made in Japan in the Sightron Factory

My advice on Thermals is to get a Thermal from a company that has a track record in Thermals. It's our pleasure to discuss this with you
