I have 2 German Sig P228"s that are as new, unfired other than the factory target shots.
The cardboard box one is a little older, comes with two 13 round dovetail back magazines. $950
The plastic box one comes with two 10 round dovetail back magazines. Has the cardboard shipper box. The foam lining of the box is beginning to break down. $875

Just found a receipt in the plastic box one. Original purchaser paid almost $700 in 1996.

I sold a bunch of these and the 226's back in the late 80's and early 90's when I worked in a gun store. They include test targets with each pistol as seen in the pictures. The 228's- ALWAYS had better targets than the 226's did.

At one with the gun.

What is the two digit date code on the one in the gray card board box? It is two letters stamped in steel under muzzle. Guessing first letter will be either a J or K.

The P228 was the best of the early era Sig Sauer lineup, IMHO.

Nice pick up. The only pistol I regret selling was KD stamped P228. They are smooth as butter.

I've have a 220, 226 and 228. I love the feel of the 220, but I have to admit, the guys are right, that 228 shoots better than either of the other two. It was a rebuilt Police issue from the early 2000s. Smooth and easy to carry. I'd be lost without any one of the three. GLWYS. You have great guns available.
