It's an 01 GMC 2500HD 4x4 extended cab long box in burgundy metal flake. It has lived under cover most of its life, until five years ago when I got it. The clear coat is gone from the hood and the roof top, since I got the truck.

The truck is almost to 140K now, and does not have a scratch or dent on it. It is far too nice to let it go to patina. And it is all the truck I will ever need, even if I do live another twenty years.

I found a guy who will sand, prime, and paint the top of the truck for me and blend it all in before it gets to the bottom of the windows. I dropped the truck off yesterday. He will get started on it next week.

So, I am excited. All that is left is to find the proper fabric to cover the driver's seat. The previous one owner was a smoker, and dropped a couple cherries on the cloth.

Check Ebay for the seat cover.A lot of companies sell on there.I recently bought an OEM factory replacement leather seat cover for the driver side 2002 Tundra for $25 and replaced it myself.

The truck has a split front seat with arm rests, and is covered in cloth. The dealers in OEM covers tell us that seat never came in cloth, only in leather.

Thus the need to find a shop which can access the matching fabric. I will get serious about that search after I recover from paying for the paint.

Thanks Wabi,

I went through the site. It looks like a good product, I do not see fabric to match my truck.

so ever if you put 5 to 10k into it you'd still be ahead because you'd have to put 60 to 70k into a new one.

if you can find a salvage yard seat with matching material, a good upholstery guy can use it to repair your seat cover... to save money, R&R the covers yerself... hog ring & needle nose pliers are all that's required...

$2700 for what we are doing. Yep, just a couple month's payments on a new one.

There is no obligation for another payment next month. Not to mention savings on insurance cost.
