I need another rifle like I need a hole in my head, but you are right. That is a dang good deal. Even at the bin..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Yes sir. That one is pristine. Looks exactly like the one I bought a few years ago, except mine came with a nice leather sling. It also needed a lot of cleaning to look better. This is what it looked like before it was touched. Only cost $675.00 back then. Start adding up the value of the scope, mounts and rings, and it's a pretty good deal. Yes, I sold the mounts/rings, and the scope. That is a good find, if the scope is in really good condition, it adds about $350+ to the value of the rifle. So, really you are getting the rifle for about $750.00. That's a nice 5 digit though. Hasn't been shot much.. If it were someone here, they probably would have posted it?

Someone was talking about looking for original model 70 pre 64 270 FW. Seems to be a pretty nice example may be a little higher than I would want to pay but then again I have one. If I didn’t I might be willing to pay it. https://www.gunsinternational.com/g...ght-270-winchester-.cfm?gun_id=102559233

There's a little bit going on with that one. The stock has been refinished, the floor plate is not lining up, or latched, for some reason. The crown also looks like it's been touched up. I'd be a little leery of it, and ask for more pics. Because of this, it's priced too high. IMHO.

Outstanding deal. I know at least one poster from this site who’s been trying to buy it for a week- not sure if it’s actually still available but worth the effort if so.

I see the floorplate issue you are referring to. What is the giveaway on the stock refinish??

IF I were in that area, I'd be trying to talk them down. I could probably get it down to $675, out the door.. Still a pretty good deal as is though. Generally most Cabela's/Bass Pro's will go down on their listed prices. Just a thunk..

Professionally refinished, and you won't see that as much. An original 1956 stock is going to look more like this one:

That's actually a cool rifle. I'll bet the throat is toast though. It's seen a lot of use.

Reasonable. Believe stock to be factory painted Tupperware; if I’m wrong it’s better than reasonable.

Not a bad deal. Looks very lightly used. Factory tupperware stock has been painted, with what appears to be Rustoleum stone texture paint. Not the best paint, as it's pretty rough, and it's not as durable, as some paints. Especially if you don't use a few coats of clear on it. If you are looking for a good stainless 300wm, that would be a fair deal.
