I had a Winchester M-70 Westerner in 30/06 for a very short while. I’m thinking that it had a 26” barrel on it. I remembered it being heavy and ill suited for my type of hunting. I mostly used a climbing stand and stalked. I got a M-70 Carbine in 30/06 (1984 vintage) with a 20” barrel. Suits me to a tee. When you’re packing a Summit Old Man, a pack with your essential gear, a rifle with scope, the pounds add up. My other favorite is a tanger Ruger M-77 RSI in 308. Too pretty to hunt with and bring much more today than the $300 I gave for it. I’ve seen a few her listed in the classified at 3 -4X that in other calibers.

Buy it, buy it. I think the OP wants one with a wood stock though.. Didn’t realize that. OK, I’ll find him one of those. 😔

That is a nice rifle. Seems kinda high in price though for stainless synthetic. I have been toying with the idea of re-stocking one though.

That's a sweet overpriced rifle. Is the bolt on the wrong side for the OP?

Hey, that is kind of cool. I usually see the stainless BOSS models. I don't think he will get the starting price on that one though. What do you think??

I have a Winchester M70 DBM Sporter Classic with a 26 inch barrel that has a crowned muzzle. Would not trade it for anything (Highly accurate) and consistent. Winchester built if for me in 1994 'One year run only with the DBM). * By the way, the 'Boss' models are worth less. ** My designated DBM 'number' as there were a few contingent upon the set-up.

Yes; that’s a rare one. Certainly worth the 3k - perhaps more. I have one, purchased in 94' as you make mention. The only year of manufacture. I've documented everything fully from the Winchester historian Lenny who is no longer there. I have a .300 Winchester Magnum DBM with engraved pistol grip cap made for me by Winchester. I have been thinking of selling lately, but uncertain at the moment. They're rare and the prices are around $3000.00. I have three DBM's with my rifle as an added feature. My Winchester is highly accurate. The generation I believe is the fourth, unsure. I have not followed this for a while. Here is a link where you can find the data and logistics and pricing: "USRAC". * Naturally, made in New Haven, Connecticut. ** And, the magazines have different letter designations as below. http://www.pmulcahy.com/bolt-action_sporting_rifles/us_ba_spr_winchester_m70.htm

Why would the 300wm be worth $3,000.00? The DBM models were never that popular. They are rare for a reason.
