I was wondering some history on this gun and if it is worth buying. I know one for sale around $300, it’s a 12ga with an extra barrel.

If it’s an 1100 special field it’s worth a lot more than that.

They are pretty good for upland game. It should have a 21" (I think) choke tube barrel. I've had a few and ended up selling them to friends that just had to have one years back. I still have one. Probably just keep it. I keep it loaded with buckshot for pigs in the yard at night.

I’ve got one and like a total dumbass I replaced the original straight stock and forearm with a composite. Used to turkey hunt with it. Now it’s a safe queen.

Hell of a price. With 2 barrels it may be an early one with fixed choke, no matter. Select the IC & go kill stuff.
Or lead me to it if you don;t want it.

Does the 1100 SF have a shortened mag tube like the 870 SF?

Does the 1100 SF have a shortened mag tube like the 870 SF? Yes they do. Also there was a company that made longer barrels than the 21". There was 23 and 25" barrels also. I picked a few up back when the Special Fields were popular. Sent mine to Briley and had them install choke tubes. Here's a little 870 SF in 20 ga. Awesome bird gun!

About 1/3 price without the extra barrel.

Grab it! The 20 gauges sell for a premium but at $300 you’re absolutely stealing it.

I got one I bought new for just over $400 back in 1988 or so.... in 20 gauge... I use it for grouse hunting.... and I use it a lot. Lots of bluing warn off mine...
I would not sell it for anything less than $1200
I would give $300 for a 12 gauge even though I don't need it...
Well... we have come to the point.... where... the parasites are killing the host. It's only a matter of time now.

I would give $300 for a 12 gauge even though I don't need it... That’s exactly why they sell for more. The 20 gauge SF’s have a big following with grouse hunters. Similar to the 28 gauge Ruger Red Labels with the scaled down receivers. I scooped up a NIB 28 gauge Red Label with 28” barrels and an English stock a few years ago. I’ve been interested in a 20 gauge SF for years but have never owned one.

It’s going to be long gone by the time you get back there to get it. That’s a absolute bargain.

Browning came out with the BPS Upland Special, 22” barrel and a straight grip.
I bought the Browning. Loved that gun. I sold it because I wanted a slug barrel with a cantilever scope mount. Remington had one for the 870, so the BPS was sold and a Remington 870 SPS was purchased.
Of course Browning brought out a barrel like I wanted within a year or so.
IMO, the BPS is the best sporting pump action made.

I bought a 20 gauge SF stock just in the hopes that someday I would find a gun to fit it.
I am always looking for factory wood stocks!
