Probably going to regret this but I have a semi a custom 280ai Montana for sale. It’s in excellent condition and has only been to the range a few times.
Stared life as a NIB 30-06, had it rebarreled with a 1:8 twist Criterion SS barrel that matched the factory contour except it tapers to a muzzle diameter of .6” so it could be threaded 1/2”. Smith bedded the action and adjusted the trigger to 2 lbs.
Has 41 rounds down tube and it’s a shooter. Consistently 1/2” - 3/4” groups with 145 LRX and 160 accubonds, the only bullets I’ve tried it in.

Is this an 84L model? I can’t recall if they ever made 8400 model in -06.

Is this an 84L model? I can’t recall if they ever made 8400 model in -06. FYI, they did chamber the 8400 in 30-06. I had a nice one, it got stolen along with my truck on the way to MT to hunt ELK in 2017. Truck was recovered but none of our gear.
