Good friend of mine has a 20 ga SF 1100. I was using it one day while we were quail hunting with his pointer. They ran a big bobcat out from under a cedar tree that crossed in front of me. I dumped him with a field load of low brass 7.5 shot. Didn’t find any quail that day but the cat is mounted and is next to the TV in the living room. 300 bucks is definitely a steal.

I bought my 1100 12 ga special field in 1987, off the used gun rack, at Charlie's in Albuquerque....it was one year old. 21" with rem chokes and upgraded recoil pad. It fit me perfectly.
1st covey of blue quail I walked into, dad nicknamed it "the harvester".
I used in NM on quail, until I moved to Idaho in 1995....here, it's my main chukar gun, but is also used on quail, roosters, huns, and mountain grouse.
I also have used it extensively on low gun skeet and sporting clays. Lord know how many 10s of thousands of rounds have been through it. Had it rebuilt and re-blued once, a few years ago.....it is still my #1 upland gun.

Bought two 20ga Special Fields in 1991. Gave one to a GF and still have the other. Bought an almost new 12ga Special Field here a few years ago for about $500 - have taken it to NoDak twice without shooting it. Been shooting 20 o/u's...

I got one I bought new for just over $400 back in 1988 or so.... in 20 gauge... I use it for grouse hunting.... and I use it a lot. Lots of bluing warn off mine...
I would not sell it for anything less than $1200
I would give $300 for a 12 gauge even though I don't need it... HAD one in 20 as well. Sold it to a great friend that has used it every season for woodcock hunting. Worse gun mistake I ever made, but at least my buddy has it.

Had two. Still have one. I used them for Dove, quail, rabbits, turkey , hogs and deer. After I could afford a rifle I mostly used it for birds.
