I replaced the skinner sights with a XS rail and sights and added my 1.5x5 Firedot scout scope, what do you think of the setup?

Tiny picture but the scope looks huge. If it works for you, that's all that matters.

I would have tried to use a receiver mounting system and a shorter scope.
Is that a scout scope that can be mounted that far forward ?

Yes Sir it’s a scout scope. It’s in QD rings in the event I need to remove it and use the peep sights.

I have the 1.5-4X28 IER on my Trapper. It surprised me how well it does work, both in getting on target and balance. I also have a Guide gun with a 2.5X20 UL on it and have had 1-4X20 and 1.5-5x20 scopes on it.

With the shorter eye relief and some rip-snorter loads, my forehead sometimes worried. With the Ultralight and especially the IER, no worries. Both are in QD rings so when the mood strikes, I can use a peep sight.

Trade-off was a slightly tighter eyebox with the longer eye relief, but nothing like a pistol scope.

My forehead thanks me.

I like that. Which scope does Leupold make in IER 1.5-5? I see a 1.5-4, but not 5 on their web site.

This is an apparently discontinued scope that I bought a several years ago.

Thank you.
