Any thoughts on this? Price of guns seems to imply they aren’t moving,

Nope. Like alot of new cartridges introduced. It was a solution to a problem that didn't exist.

What does it do that is an improvement? Kind of like the 45 GAP, or the .327, or even the 40.

The .40 fills a perceived gap at least. But with all it's popularity, it's appeal is definitely in decline.

In reverse, the. 45 ACP is ancient but effective, and loaded to modern pressures, as in .45 Super, it is more effective than a 10mm. Yet most know nothing of it.

People spend money on what's hyped, based on limited knowledge. It's their money the companies want.

It’s life cycle is dependent on the 5%er’s that have to have what’s new. It’s now past “maturity”, so no.

I was very tempted by this one. They even had a $50 rebate. Ultimately I decided against it. A few extra rounds for ear splitting noise wasn't worth it for me. https://grabagun.com/smith-and-wess...arry-3-1-barrel-13-16-round-mags-ts.html

This. Cool idea, but not needed.

Reminds me of how manufacturers used to push the various short magnum rifle cartridges. Admittedly good ideas in some ways, but they didn't really do much that traditional rifle cartridges didn't.

I think it would be a great round for a lightweight submachine gun, but we're unlikely to see that.

It’s 30 Super Carry. The whole premise from the start is more ammo capacity compared to a same size 9mm.

An era with cyclic ammo famines, and in which 9mm is elbowing out even established cartridges, seems like a really poor time to introduce a niche chambering.

Stillborn.

I like the idea. Good ballistics in a package that will allow compact / subcompact semi-autos with greater magazine capacity. Logic doesn't matter, it was born dead. All of the handgun cartridges shooting .308 to .314 bullets have one foot in the grave and one on a banana peel.

I think there's a hole it's not going to do much but especially in certain weapons that it comes chambered in it might just be a heck of a collector's item in another 20 years

The 9mm pistols have pretty damn good ammo capacity nowadays, even the smaller ones like the P365 have 17-round magazine options.

There might be a market for a pocket-sized 32 cal, with a little more ass than the 32ACP, and without that semi-rimmed case. The 30 Super Carry is too much for that sort of pistol though.

The cartridge is sort of a $hit sand which. It runs at 50k and has quite a pop to it. I feel like if the made the 32 acp rimless, maybe a touch longer and at 28-32k that would be ok. But even at 32 acp velo that’s about all you’re going to get out of the cartridge unless it ran 3-4 hundred more, which would be all pop and not much gained. I like the 32 acp and the 32 H&R, they are brilliant and maybe at +p but the 327 and 30 SC make little sense for defense.

Not for me, old as I am.

Reviews I’ve seen have found the recoil indistinguishable from 9mm, and the report much worse. Ammo is certainly less widely available and while not fearfully expensive, certainly not cheaper. I suppose that during the next dearth, you might find it easier to find due to its lack of popularity, but that seems like a silly reason to buy into another cartridge since it would be easy to prepare now by putting a bit aside for something you already own.

Couple of extra rounds? Meh… That even applies to the 5.7s, which typically hold 22 or 23, but have practically no recoil and are much easier to rack, which are advantages for some.

You’d think that the lessons learned from the .32 H&R and .327 Fed would’ve stuck, but I guess this is a new generation of idea men.

Neck it to .177 up pressure to 50k. Make it a viable option to the sterling 5.7 market. Should have .22 Mag performance in a horrible package. What’s not to like.
