Rice University received an onslaught of online mockery this week when news broke of their new "Afrochemistry" class that seeks to analyze science via a "contemporary Africa-American lens." The course description on the university's website explains students will "apply chemical tools and analysis to understand black life in the U.S." and "implement African American sensibilities to analyze chemistry."
"Diverse historical and contemporary scientists, intellectuals, and chemical discoveries will inform personal reflections and proposals for addressing inequities in chemistry and chemical education," it read.
Brooke Johnson, a Rice graduate with a PhD in chemistry from Princeton hired last August as part of the university's DEI department, will instruct the class.

You have to know that there's a huge government grant involved in this somewhere. Bingo or money tied to DEI score. So what do you do - make one of the most binary things DEI so you don't really have to change much. I mean H2O either is or isn't water, regardless of race but if you say "H20 is water, which is scarce in Africa" - bam, DEI course, DEI points and DEI money.

One thing I learned as a career teacher is that the higher one goes in education the greater the Ivory Tower effect. Those people think the world should work according to their thoughts without a dose of reality to temper the effects. IOW, they are nuts.

and then they wonder why we get pissed ,when they want their school loans forgiven by the govt ...meaning us taxpayers have to pay for crap like this .This is why iam against forgiving school loans .you cant get a job with this class

The "learned" have learned how to scam the unlearned and get money for emitting mountains of BS and handing out useless degrees. It's a hustle, but it keeps the lights on, and you don't have to work outdoors.
