Thinking about buying a box of each to try in my Savage model 11 .308 150 gr. Has anyone used the CoreLokt tipped ammo?

Just the old core-loct. I have no reason to change . I used them for my last 3 deer in my .243 Win and they do a lot of damage. If you go with the tipped ones, hope they do less damage , but I can say , those core-locts sure put them down.

Put lot of deer & elk inthe freezer with core lokt, now wonder if it's the same since hearing Hornady makes them.

I stopped by Academy sports today bought 2 boxes of core-lokt .308 150 gr.original not tipped. 29.99 a box with 5% off using my store card. Those tipped core-lokt's were like 44.99 a box will see how my .308 likes the orginials before I try the tipped.

did some investigation on this high priced ammo (CoreLokt Tipped)... in almost all choices offered, the G1 BC's are identical to the Hornady SST's, (130 gr 270 Win & 150 gr 7mm Rem mag being the exception)... so load your SST's to similar velocities and viola!, Tipped CoreLokt performance... paint the tips green if you must...

My daughter used the tipped CL in 243 this year. 2 yo buck pretty steep quartering away at 120 yards. She hit a little farther forward (closer to near side leg) than would have been ideal. The buck ran about 40-50 yards. I was surprised that the bullet didn’t exit, but I did not go looking for it.

I tried the TCL after being unimpressed with deer season xp, and TTSX. If she hunts next year I’m going with the TCL again.
