Need bottom metal, trigger guard, etc… Ballpark cost to complete this action? I’m just looking for a standard floor plate, no extended mag, Nothing fancy needed, just looking for the options and costs. Lots of options for a 700 replacement trigger, Triggerttech comes to mind…… And anyone with thoughts on the Defiant Classic action, feel free to comment.

Hawkins and Triggertech..
Can't see you having to search much harder, other than to find the best price on em..

Hawkins and Triggertech..
Can't see you having to search much harder, other than to find the best price on em.. That would be my 1st choice for a build and is what I used on both of my Defiance/Rebel action builds. I think the Hawkins is used a lot for Defiance action builds, seems what I see used most if going for a more traditional build.

Depending on the configuration, Sunny Hill may be an option. I have a long action Rebel and went with their drop-belly style bottom metal.
I'm becoming more tolerant of intolerant people.

Can't see you having to search much harder, other than to find the best price on em.. This. Things to keep in mind: 1. The trigger tech should be one of the models with no bolt release. 2. The bottom metal is a standard long or short (unless XM), but the mag box/follower should match the action length. The short action Def's have the longer OAL, so pick the box to match.

I have one with Hawkins and another with Sunny Hill. I much prefer the looks of the SH. Trigger Tech units for both.

Keep it coming guys, Several things here that I was not aware of,
Other than the Xm, is there no ‘bundle’ that’s ready to go? Am I just not finding it?
Bottommetal, follower, spring and box?

Cartridge choice? Could make a difference on how it feeds. Stagger or center feed? I would look hard at a Kauger SST. 900.00 SS 950.00 nitrided there's alot of value there and great family to deal with. Ive had 3 and still have 2 Defiance but a Kauger will be my next action.

I haven't used their bottom metal but have used other stuff from them and its always been good quality. https://redhawkrifles.com/rhr-complete-bottom-metal-kit-remington-700-bdl/When I did my 2 builds I just ordered the Hawkins B/m and then the rest of the parts from Wyatt's which was easy and the price wasn't bad.

Any of the Primary, Special, or Two-Stage can be ordered with a bolt release (700) or without (various clones)...the point was to order whichever without the bolt release so you don't have to remove it.

Why worry about the bolt release on a special or primary, it literally a 10 second job. If you have the bolt release and decide to put the trigger on a factory action then you have it or decide later to upgrade its alot more valuable with the bolt release if you decide to sell.
