Palmetto State has the Steyr Pro Hunter II in 7-08 for $649.00. Might be a good deal someone. I would like to get one but too many irons in the fire.

Ringworm here on the fire has some for sale too. I don't mind paying a little more to help someone who's trying to compete in a pretty tough market.

That's interesting. Two weeks ago they ran their 308s out on that sale. Last week it was 223. Now it's 7-08. Stay tuned if you like any other PH chamberings.

Is PSA selling Pro Hunter II's or III's? Some of the ads say II's and others say III's.

my price is $800 shipped so tax and shipping thats about $730.
so I cant obviously keep the lights on and try to compete with a multi million dollar corporation.
everyones free to shop where they like.
what makes a I, II or III is the stock. everything else is identical.

ill do $900 on this so...
im beating them on it.

I’d rather buy from ringworm. Palmetto gouges way too many items in my opinion and their shipping situation sucks.

As well as the price gouging?

Shipping situation, the 7-10 days processing prior to your order shipping. Gouging, just of the top of my head marlin 1895 Sbl msrp $1695. Their “ regular price “ $2000 daily deal price $1799 by the time you complete cart over $1900. Considering most retailers sell under MSRP I would consider that gouging. That’s one example but if you look at most of their pricing they’re high. Their customer service also not great. If you like to shop there more power to you but I would rather support other businesses just my opinion.

While I agree with supporting a member, PSA has done more to support the 2nd Amendment and get ARs and other "evil black rifle" into the hands of millions than about anyone over the last decade.

They should be far, far from the top of any "avoid this retailer" list

I have had zero issues with PSA with very prompt shipping and excellent pricing on sale items often with free shipping. I will continue to buy from them.

My shop sold 70+ Steyr’s last quarter.
The most bolt actions sold by any retailer in the US.
Steyr hired a retail distribution company, basically a sales company to boost US sales. The same company reps for burris optics.
The "salesman" gave PSA a pallet of Discontinued scopes along with a deal on rifles.
https://palmettostatearmory.com/ste...rris-fullfield-3-9x40mm-rifle-scope.html
At that time I was paying 799 for that same rifle and moving more of them than Cabelas.
When the salesman pitched the deal to PSA he pointed out how well we were doing with the rifles in an attempt to motivate them to buy more.
PSA isn't making [bleep] on the SX rifles. They are selling them to spite us. My shop won't do PSA transfers and they are retaliating.
Like I said...everyone spends their money where they want. If the end all be all of every purchase is price regardless of service, regardless of who the money is going to and regardless of community then eventually the only places to shop will be Walmart and Acadamy.
My shop is an hour and a half away from their HQ and 30 min from a store.
We don't do PSA transfers because I'm not a UPS store. Im not having my people prosses paperwork for a gun I have sitting on my shelf that might be $30 more than they got it at PSA.
I'm truly trying to offer concierge service and provide an environment for folks who want to be treated right.
I can't pay my people well and sell guns for $20 over cost like PSA and acadamy.
But when I get a deal on things I pass them along. And will try to continue that.
