When I got to the Navy in 02, there was a good mix. Rates were broken down by about how you'd expect them to be here. My community just didn't have a lot of AA given the nature of it. Later in 2018 when my son joined - he tells me it was rather mixed in his community but the treatment was VASTLY different. If you had a tan you got away with a lot, especially as you progressed through the lower enlisted ranks. As he got out in 22, specifically mentioned that the races were definitely tense as a whole while individuals in individual settings were different.
When I was in, early GWOT - meritocracy. He didn't stay because the .mil no longer was (amongst other things).

When Viet Nam was drawing down the RIF was in full production. I did my 3 and got out since there was little chance of making rank or being able to stay for a whole 20. I went National Guard and finished my career.

Imo when given orders they won't hesitate to shoot whitey.
They need to keep the number of whites in the military down so the troops will go after white Christians when they're told too. Thry don't want troops that will hesitate to shoot Maga types. Think unarmed little lady shot in neck on J6. Took a certain kind of officer to do that and get away with it.
