What's everybody use for risers under gun safes to create air gap?

Guy at gun store mentioned these today.. rated at 1000lb each, seems like 4 of them under a safe would do the job.

And let's face it, nowadays there's a lot of beds holding 2 large adults that would all together be more weight than a medium gun safe. grin

Nothing fancy, I'm using 4x4s cut to the width of the safe.

Use something that gives plenty of clearance
Mine is about a 3/8” off the floor and noticed yesterday I have a rust issue

Mine, too, minus the carpet, and only since about 2003. Marbles don't roll towards it, so I guess the floor is holding.

Got two safes on a dry basement concrete floor, sitting on pieces of pressure treated 2x4. Ones been there almost thirty years, the other about ten or twelve years. No problems and I also keep an eye on the humidity level not just inside the safes, but in the whole basement with hygrometers. Only major problem would be a sump pump failure, and even then it would take a long time before any water even got on the floor. Only time the pump runs regular is during the spring rain and snow melt season.

Mine still sits atop the shipping pallet it came on. Our basement is not a walkout and after watching three guys muscle it in empty I have never worried about anchoring it down.

You're correct that you generally don't want steel bolted direct to concrete, due to the potential for moisture/corrosion. Lots of product you could use, including scraps of fiber grating.

Mine is in my unconditioned shop. It sits on PT 2 x 4's laid flat and all is anchored to the floor. Both have golden rods in them for rust prevention.

Basement safe (concrete floor) on pressure treated 4x4s. Upstairs safe (wood floor) on a small rug. Both have golden rods.

Our safe has "feet". It doesn't sit flat on the floor.

Pads that came with the safes.

I cut a piece of tyvek and bolted mine down. It's been that way for 20 years or more. I moved it once with no noticeable issues. I do not have any electrical bonding or lights in mine to promote cathodic issues.
