Four years ago today we lost dad. I’m having a surprisingly tough time right now. I’ll never get over it, of course, but I figured the music wouldn’t be so loud four years later. Probably just the anniversary sharpening its claws on me.

Never a good time to lose a parent. My mom died in the cabin in Wabigoon late June 77.
My Dad drowned on Wabigoon Lake about 3 in the afternoon on Sunday Aug 19.

Im right there with you, lost my Dad Feb 8 2020.
69 years old and hit with lung cancer. Dad never smoked but he ranched and was a Auto Trimmer. There are days I wish I could call him, he was a smart man without a college education. He could fix about anything. I miss him a lot and your right the music is still pretty loud.
I am lucky I have a great step Dad. He raised me and we worked together for years. He and I had a issue and for 5 years we didn’t talk. In 2015 we put our differences aside and forgave each other.
I feel lucky to have had 2 Dads but am not looking forward to that loss. I will get to experience that with biological and step.
I love them all and it will be very difficult.
Even though the music is loud I try and hear Dads words through the noise. He loved me and Knew beyond any doubt I loved him
Miss you Dad

I don't recall which day either my mother or father passed so its no big deal. If I did I doubt it would differ.

I get hit just at random. Its all normal to grieve. But nothing changes. We move on. And we are ok with that. We are next in theory and after that it won't matter.

Sorry to give you the bad news but it just stings a little less as time goes on but the miss never goes away.

I lost my Dad in 2005, it it still stings on Fathers day, Christmas, His birthday, My birthday, The day he passed, ect. My Dad was my best friend and I miss him terribly but I know he would want me to press on with out him so I do.

I lost my dad in 1978. He was one day short of 52. He never got to meet is grandson and granddaughter nor his great grand kids. He would of loved to have met them. He had 4 boys and no girls. I know my granddaughter would of been his sunshine. Mom passed in 2017. She would bend over backwards for my son but gave little time to my daughter. That broke my heart. But, she never had daughters to raise.

My dad died in May 2002. He was too sick to attend my youngest son’s high school graduation in person but I think he was there. Often when I am at one of the ranches or doing something he and I enjoyed doing together, I have a feeling he is not really gone, I just can’t see him but I know he is close by. Maybe we can talk to dead people. Or maybe I’m just confused.

I'm sorry for your loss. My Dad passed in 1998 and some days are tougher than others but it's there all the time.

I'd give almost anything if he could meet his grandchildren and I could say "see, I didn't totally screw things up", but I'm grateful he's not suffering anymore. There are times when I'm in the mountains at the end of a day, sun setting, cold breeze on my face and it's almost like he's with me.

It never goes away. Some days it retreats to a shadow that you see out of the corner of your eye, always following you. If you turn your head to look at it, it stares right back at you. The best I've been able to do is just nod in acknowledgement that it's there, and try to go about my day, but I'm constantly aware of it's presence.

Very sorry for your loss.

Sorry to tell you, I lost my dad 44 years ago. It never gets easier.
