I'm hoping it's just a rumor.

Turp did more than most in promoting custom rifles.

His books are fantastic for those who don't have a copy.

Very sad news. His articles in the 80’s heavily influenced my ideas on what a custom rifle should look like. Without a doubt there was a lot of drool spilled over the pictures that he put in those articles. Deepest condolences and prayers for comfort for his family and friends.

I have both of his books he wrote on Modern Custom Rifles. If true about his passing I'm sorry to hear it.

Sad news, a heck of a nice guy. I got to know him over the years, did some Model 70 trading and shared a meal when I was down in Arizona...a loss for the gun/hunting community for sure.

Met him at Dave Miller Co shop here in Tucson and at the range when he was with Dave and Curt. He signed my copy of the book titled Mastery of Metal and Wood. Nice guy. He was an excellent rifle photographer. Sorry to hear of his passing.
