The only problem with his auto ammo is policing up all of the nice starline brass when it's fired...

I have not.

A little information for Campfire Friends.

I get lots of questions about "will this work in my 1974, 1873, Italian, clone, Japanese Winchester, Miroku Browning, Mossberg copy, 336, 1895, that has a 12 twist barrel" .

Most shooters don't know that the 170 grain Keith projectile was created before there ever was a .357. They also don't know that in .44 caliber firearms, the bore diameters of handguns and rifles are different. Usually. Some manufacturers went with traditional specs and some later decided to match the rifle bores with the handgun bores. Lots of people over the years have bought .44 mag ammo and tried shooting it through their marlin carbine only to have it shoot terrible groups. The fact that the Marlin had both a different bore diameter and a different rate of twist than their .44 revolver that they carry and shoot might have something to do with this. smile

I tell people in reference to the ammo I produce that it is strictly handgun ammo. The revolver ammo is for revolvers.

I do know of one guy however who runs the .38 Special +P 158 grain Poly-Coated Lead Semi Wadcutter in his Marlin. Apparently uses it as a "culling" rifle/load for deer. I cannot recall his exact title he told me, but it is his profession to control animal numbers.

This load here.

That job sounds far more fun than cranking out ammo! smile

Thank you everyone for the kind words.

I have been pretty darn busy the last few days trying to get caught up with work. Those are very neat little J Frames and I count myself lucky to contribute to the project!

I would like one of those J frame snubbies for each coat pocket. Makes for a faster reload. Thanks Mackay Sagebrush. Be Well Brother, RZ.

Ted,

Congrats on all the well deserved success (that comes by way of much hard work).

Are you sunning yourself at the SHOT SHOW? If not, I’m telling the wife what she’s missing!

Thanks.

You touched on the subject of “twist”. I’ve been looking at adding a 357 lever to the collection. Twist rated vary greatly fro, 1/16 to 1/30. Winchester even has two different twist rates.

I reckon some twists are better suited for 38’s and heavier bullets (longer). Idk
