I have a Kahles Helia S 1.1-4x24 that's yellowish and I'm assuming a cleaning. I know that swarovski handles US service.
Anyone used them for older 70s optics? Cost? Turn around?
Thanks in advance

I have used them. I had an older (80’s model) scope I sent back for a reticle change. They had to send it to Austria, took several months.

A few years ago I sent a second hand AH 3-9x42 scope to be cleaned up and gone through, I sent it to Swaro and it was done in a couple months free of charge.

I have sent one or two similar Kahles Helia L models in for cleaning and such. Everything was free to me except for my shipping cost to the US Kahles/Swarovski facility. I think it was in Rhode Island. All went well in my experience. I was told the closer it was to hunting seasons the longer turn around time might be.

Ditto on sending a Kahles to Swarovski for service. Very pleased.

Yes IIRC many years ago when I sent a scope back for a reticle change it went to Idaho to be shipped back to the factory.

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

One of the great things about Kahles is that they service what they make, no matter how old it seems.
I had a very old 3-9x in claw mounts that came with an old Krieghoff drilling that I bought on-line. A seal had leaked, internals were yellowed and dim. I sent it back to Kahles. They said they would service it for a fee, and they did. Rebuilt completely with all new seals and cleaned the lenses. Like new, it cost me half of what changing & fitting the claw mounts would have cost me. When I expressed surprise and delight, they said " of course! we just serviced a scope this week that was much older, probably more than 80 years old. We service what we sell"

Well, for better or worse, she's headed out. I just hope it'll be back before September.

There was an outfit in Orofino, Idaho that covered USA service for Kahles. I sent a Helia C to them that had to go back to Austria for repair and purging/resealing. It was handled in a timely manner and no complaints from me. Cheers
