People who buy Toyota products are those who don't like buying cars on a regular basis. Buying a Toyota product is like having a new roof put on your house.
Do it once and you're not likely to have to worry about buying another one for a significant part of your life.
I've got a Toyota, two Acuras and an old, 2005 F-150. I keep all of them maintained so that they're ready for the road. The old Toyota just keeps going. Of the three Acuras I've owned, I've found that they're very good. But they've needed more maintenance than the Toyota. I spent some money on the F-150 when I bought it to bring it into shape mechanically. It's very low miles for its age. I just use it for "truck stuff".
Mechanically, it's in very good condition. But it's going to rust away long before the mechanicals give out. This is the second F-150 I've owned that's had rust problems--and I'm in Kentucky where road salt generally isn't a big issue. We don't get all that much snow and the roads don't stay salted 6 months out of the year.
There's a lot to like about an F-150. But Ford needs to address that rust issue. It's not brain surgery. Lots of auto manufacturers have taken measures to inhibit rust from eating their vehicles up.

Anytime R candidates want to stop pissing all over union workers they can get an endorsement. Maybe when D's quit pissing on Law Enforcement or Border patrol they will get Dem endorsement

What we can't understand is why the UAW supports a POS Prez who has mandated all the EV bullchit which is now costing the Big-3 billions in losses due to customers refusing to BUY these POS cars/trucks..
IMHO the boss of the UAW has lost his freakin' MIND..

IMHO the boss of the UAW has lost his freakin' MIND.. Because the .gov tends to keep bailing out the big 3. Losses don't matter to the UAW so long as that continues. Plus the rank and file make their money on the line regardless if it's an EV or ICE.

Wonder how many union folks voted for Trump.
UAW headquarters is in Detroit, a dem run city in a blue state.
Not all union plants are in blue states.

Union "members" are way less than 1/3 of US manufacturing workers. Unfortunately, a union is like a shoe that you can't take off if it doesn't fit. If union "members" were allowed to decide for themselves if they wanted to stay in the union, unions would go out of business and so would the democratic party.
I bought my first Toyota in 2000. I have not bought a Ford or GM product since.
Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.
Democrats would burn this country to the ground, if they could rule over the ashes.

dave Ford guy here, and I feel the same way. for at least 25 years now I've been wondering why Ford and GM don't strive to have a comparable product to Toyota. I'm sure there are a number of answers as to why but none of them can be wanting to build the most reliable product I'm sure I'll hear from the American car owners/builders and that's fine but even they have to admit that reliability, historically, is a challenge compared to Toyota. That's easy. Planned obsolescence. The quicker your vehicle wears out the quicker you'll buy a new one. Hard to wear out a Toyota quickly. you'd think that would hurt repeat business though Toyota has embraced quality control, in full. They aren't what they used to be. Why should they be in our market? Their is blind union loyalty, Blind brand loyalty too. Folks invest themselves in their junk, them defend the stuff like it is themselve. Watch a guy stammer around deficiencies in his favorite brand. Toyota guys?, let's talk frames!🤣🤣 Why don't they need superior lifetime reliability? Because Americans are vain as F! A big chunk of new car buyers, buy new cars. Every few years, everytime there is an update. Always gotta be seen in a NEW car. They DGAF about whether it runs 180k, 280k, 350k. They want 4 years, maybe 100k good life. A few problems are explained away. "It only needed...in 4 years of HARD running". If they get a reasonable resale, they are tickled. However, many are just fine rolling debt from this one into the next one.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

It's the unionized government workers.
And leadership across the board.
While I can tell my boss to get stuffed. That his plans are stupid and counterproductive,
i bet my staff rep isn't gonna do well if he starts telling his bosses how their
Socialist buddies are trash!
