Why not pull the barriers and forces inside Texas 100 yards or so. That’s inside the US/Mexico border. Texas should be able to do as it pleases with its own materials and National Guard with a buffer zone between them and Mexico. Perhaps initiate its own Border Militia to avoid fed interference. Let the Bidenistas have the strip between the barriers and the river but deny them entry through the wire. Should the insurgents cross the river opposite Texas then try an end run from New Mexico while unprocessed, Texas would be protecting their border with another state not a shared border with another country.

I have wondered the same thing. There’s got to be more than one way to skin this cat.

I believe border jurisdiction ie federal authority extends 25 miles within?

How about we put the razor wire 100 yards up inside Mexico and tell them to f-off?? That's what that nation deserves: the total violation of their territorial integrity.

If the money flow was shut off to Mexico they would build their own damn fence and seal the border in a few weeks.

Send a thousand excavators south of the river and dig trenches 20 feet deep and 30 feet wide along any land flat enough to do it. Sit on the north side of the border with long range rifles and pick off anybody who climbs out of the hole.

You’re on the right track. I found reference to a law so stating. It allows federal border agents to enter private property up to 25 miles from the border. However it seems power to enforce can extend a “reasonable distance” later determined to be 100 miles. That’s my interpretation but I welcome correction.

However as I read the constitutional language concerning protection of the states it doesn't say anything about distances for this or that. It just states the federal obligation to defend states from invasion. And invasion must begin immediately beyond the border. I do not see where states are forbidden from protecting themselves from invasion whether or not the feds are involved.
