When I was in the business I had a cop bring one in. First I ever saw but he was one who thought he knew more than his armorer so after he got into and ruined two of the beryllium copper extractor fingers he brought it to me rather than embarrass himself with the armorer. I called a friend in Springfield parts dept and learned a few things. One was that parts ( the different ones ) were not in the system. He had some but it was one of those deals where maybe only he knew where they were. I needed the Beryllium fingers and I got two sets of them. He told me that after the French and NATO backed out of the contract S&W sold a bunch to Israel and a few other places. The orphan guns and part kits in Europe kind of got bought up or vanished and about 1000-1500 came back to the US. Records on these guns is hard if not impossible to find. Even Jenks didn’t know. I heard from him that they made between 8-10K of these but find that hard to believe. Not only slick nice revolvers but also mystery guns

I don't have a 9, but I have a 610 revolver (40/10mm). I love it but it is a bit different. It is a lot faster to load when you have pre loaded moon clips. If you just go out with ammo and a couple of moon clips, it's slower to load than a normal revolver because you have to load and unload the moon clips. I got 20 moon clips from TK (the good quality ones). I cant remember but it seems to me they were about $150 is for 20. They are still going but the S&W ones it came with are getting loose.
I dont know about the 9 but my 610 is very accurate, and happens to shoot 40 or 10 to just about the same point of impact.

These prices are from Lucky Gunner for Magtech ammo. Much cheaper to practice with 9mm than with .38 Special.

Very good point. I knew 9mm was cheaper but I didn’t expect it to be half the cost of 9mm. That cost adds up if you shoot a lot and dont hand load.
