I could very well see myself with one of the Henry SS. Like having a rifle that's viable to 200yds and legal everywhere here in IN. I'll be looking at the lighter weight bullets from Hammer or Maker.

Based on a conversation at a recent industry event. I think Traditions is going to be out with a 360 BH soon. They already have a .35 Rem so it's just a different chamber reamer.

Traditions sure is proud of their BH rifle. And I thought Henry was the high-price leader!

Street price on the Traditions G3 is around $475 for the .350 Legend so I'd imagine the new chambering will be about the same.

I hope a Plane Jane CVA scout model will be next for CVA.

My 360 BH rifle is nearly complete. Birdsong coated it but I should have milled a pocket over the original chamber marking and engraved the new caliber first. I will send it back to them when I send them the next gun and have them spray over it. All in I have roughly $550 into this gun so if CVA can sell theirs for $475 that would be a decent deal.

I can very much dig that!! I have a 357 H&R that the kids started with. Can't decide if I want to go that route or leave it for nostalgia... After modification would make it more useful....

Throwing this out as some information. Last month I was at KTP in Maine when they had industry reps in working the gun room floor. I got to talk with the Rem./Fed. ammo rep. I asked him how well 360 BH sales were going. He said that ammo sales/orders far exceeded their expectations and they intended to increase production.

Since I had that talk with the rep, they've now announced two new loads. A 180gr. copper bullet and a 180gr. flex tip bullet.

I've posted about it before, but last year I had Mike Bellm rechamber a CVA Scout from 350L to 360 BH and am very happy with it. Seriously considering adding a lever rifle to go with it. I wouldn't be suprised for Ruger/Marlin to come out with a 360 BH instead of a 35 Rem.

I have been kicking around a single shot for our “primitive”season here in MS as well. Can’t decide which way to go yet but really want a SS CVA scout so a Buckhammer being introduced in a Scout is very interesting. The names of both are a little over the top however! My old Handirifle 45-70 has started to kick harder than it used to….

That's exactly what I set up the CVA Scout for. I started off doing primitive season with Handi's in 45-70 and .444 Marlin. Then moved to Encore 35 Whelens.

Our longest shot is about 120 yards. I see the 360 BH being used a whole lot more than the others going forward.

The 360 BH is in competition with the 350L. I think that decision will be determined by the preferred gun platform of the buyer. I'm a single shot/lever gun fan and as a handloader much prefer the .358 diameter bullets of the .360. Another point in favor of the .360 is that Federal and Remington are putting out two good bullet weights that are selling cheaper than the 350L hunting loads.

Another new .360 load has come out that I forgot about. Federal now has a 220gr. Hammerdown load for the guys that like a heavier bullet.

Yessir I’m waiting to see how available a 360 is in a Scout. Leaning hard towards it over the Legend. I prefer rimmed cartridges in a single shot but have no qualms about a legend, honestly.

Most of our shots are the same here, 50-100 yards unless I specifically seek out a cutover or long firebreak. Heck, the majority are 30-60 yards!

I’m going to wait to pull the trigger. I’ve got a SS Scout 350 L in my cart at Grab-a-Gun but want to see how the 360 availability shakes out.

Thanks for the video abolt! I’m still in a holding pattern to see how available a Scout becomes in 360. Leaning hard that way.

I’m also looking for an Encore rifle or frame. May go all out and buy a MGM 360 barrel if I can source a frame or rifle at a price I can live with.

It might not die out, but it has a very limited audience. Sales would be low so rifle makers not willing to spend funds chambering and marketing.

While I agree to an extent, consider this. It's no less viable than the 30-30 or 35 Rem. I will grant those cartridges have a 100+ year head start. There are good reasons for it's success though.

It fits a need for a large group of deer hunters. It's loaded more powerfully than the 35 Rem. and is made from the same basic case as the 30-30. Ballistically, it's a better cartridge than either one. And, it's chambered in rifles that hunters like to use.

If...... more guns are made for it (Marlin) and the ammo companies keep it in stock at the comparative prices that it's presently on the shelf far, it can be successful. It will simply come down to the gun/ammo companies supporting it long enough for hunters to get a chance to use it.
