https://www.thegleaner.com/obituaries/evc045631J.B. Wood, 89, of Corydon passed away on January 24, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by family. He was born June 14, 1934, in Bowling Green to James and Stella Wood.
J.B. first started as a DJ for radio station WGBF, filling the airspace with classical music and jazz. He then went on to WEHT News 25 as an anchorman and weatherman. J.B. was an accomplished author, writer, and forensic expert. He was a man of guns but prayed he’d never have to use one. He never wanted conflict, only peaceful resolution. J.B. was an affable man and teacher to all. He taught and gave compassion to all, even those who weren’t deserving.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Lark Wood, Heather (Charles) Wood, Mike (Vickie) Wood, Ethan Wood, and Nathan (Mandy) Wood; 7 grandchildren; and 14, soon to be 16, great grandchildren, which he lovingly called his “grubworms”.
Care has been entrusted to Cardinal Cremation Society.

I liked him. He will be missed, but remembered.

I liked him. He will be missed, but remembered. Was neighbors with Mr. Wood for a while back in the early '70s. Back then he drove a VW Beetle, and usually wore a safari type hat and vest. Real nice fellow and forgiving, too. Our Malamute got loose once and killed some of their chickens and he never got out of sorts at all (I thought for sure the dog would be a goner). Offered to pay him for the dead chickens but he refused and pretty much just laughed the whole incident off... I called him back around 2000 or so to get his opinion of a handgun I was considering buying but knew nothing about and he was very polite and extremely helpful. As I recall he lost his wife to cancer several years ago.

It was a given that you could get correct info from him, & never a reason to think otherwise. A big asset to the gun community.
R.I.P. Mr. Wood.

I remember reading some articles he wrote in the 70s and 80s when I was still reading firearms magazines
