Seen him in way back normal roles, but he came in to character that was his for sure. Every time I hear his voice I know he's gonna be a hoot to listen too.
Anybody else have a character that's not in the mainstream, but usually there, a lot, & interesting. The Jack Elam thread made me think of him.
I knew Strother. One night I was attending a party at the home of an actor friend. Strother was there. We chatted for awhile. He said he couldn't go out anymore that people would not ask him to repeat the line. I laughed and said, "Well Hell, Strother, say it."
He said the line as he did in the flick and I and several others there, laughed and gave him a round of applause. We were all in show business, so it was kind of an "inside" thing.
